SWU Year End Message

Hello Southwest United Families,

As 2020 draws to a close, and we reflect on the past 12 months it can be described as an extremely trying and apprehensive year for all. Thankfully, through the combined efforts of our staff, technical team, volunteers, and members, we have been able to continue our focus to pursue the development of our philosophy and strategy.

As organizations around the world grappled with unprecedented change this year, we can see how the skills and abilities of our SWU family were more relevant than ever. Our club is fortunate to have an exceptional staff and accomplished technical team at our disposal.  We would like to thank Lynn Marcellus for her continued dedication to the club and for wearing so many hats at one time, as well as Ed Fong who keeps our website up and running.  We would like to recognize our exceptional technical director Tomasz Janas (TJ).  TJ is extremely accomplished and if we were to list all his certifications and accolades this would be a very long list.  TJ keeps our technical program and philosophy moving forward and he of course does not do this alone but has a great technical team to support him, so a special thank you to the technical team members Larisa Staub, Norbert Janas, Hussein Shabdi, Maria Pucci, and Kevin M’Pindou.

Moving Ahead

As we enter into 2021 SWU continues to be focused on delivering to its membership and players the highest standards of training from a technical and facility perspective that we all have come to expect.  We are also committed to doing this despite considerable obstacles arising from the COVID pandemic.  We believe 2021 will start much as 2020 has ended and many challenges will be ahead of us; however SWU sees this as an opportunity and not an obstacle.  As many organizations are waiting and seeing what transpires, SWU will continue to move ahead and develop its long-term vision, which will see our club become the pinnacle of club soccer in the region.

Over the next few months, you will see some of our initiatives being implemented.  We also ask that you follow us on our social media platforms to ensure you are up to date on all the happenings within the club.

In closing, the board of Southwest United Soccer Club would like to thank all the players and their families for believing in the club and allowing us to help you develop your skills with us.  We would also like to wish everyone a safe and happy new year.  May 2021 bring you all good health and happiness, and we look forward to seeing you all in the near future.
